Analysis : Warlock's Upheavel

Today we will look at one of the most underrated spells in the game, known as Upheaval from Warlock's skillset.

Some players dont even know what does this spell do, as they are busy rightclicking with their Golem on their enemies.

A powerful slowing current that grows stronger as it's channelled. Lasts up to 10 seconds, slowing enemies up to 84%. Enemies are slowed for 3 seconds after leaving the area or the spell ends.

Cast Range: 700
Radius: 700
Duration: 10
Slow per Second: 7%/14%/21%/28% (max 84%)

Cooldown: 50 seconds
Mana Cost: 100/110/120/130

Does not go through BKB.

Having 700 cast range and 700 radius means... It actually has a 1400 cast range. This means that he can actually start casting and slowing an enemy while still invisible from Smoke of Deceit ! This is great for Ganking early in the game but most players forgo this spell early gaem for dameg from Fatal bonds and heal from Last Word. I urge you to try a different build the next time you play Warlock.

Song of the Siren + Upheaval

By timing this right, all units coming out of Song of the Siren will receive a 84% slow for at least 3 seconds !



Stone Gaze + Upheaval

With Medusa's new Ultimate its either they turn and run or they stay and fight while Medusa turns them all into stone. With Upheaval, the first option is no longer available as they are slowed to the minimum move speed. Both spells have huge AoE which could most likely change teamfights.



Tombstone + Upheaval

Let the Zombies Apocalypse begin. Too... much.. slows in a huge AoE.



Vacuum + Wall + Upheaval

I feel that Dark Seer and Warlock works well together. Firstly, both of them can go to the offlane together where Warlock can keep Dark Seer healthy while he rushes opponents with Ion Shell. When it comes to Teamfight its no joke either. Chaotic Offering + Vacuum gives huge AoE damage followed by Wall and Worst of all ... UPHEAVAL. Yes. Whats worse than being suck to a point is that you cant walk away from it.

The possibilities are endless. Don't ever overlook this wonderful spell and try to play a ganker Warlock instead of the usual Solo Mid farm or Babysitter Warlock.
